 Individual & Group Therapy

Therapy at Stillpoint isn’t about fixing you—it’s about understanding the patterns that have been shaping your life.

Many of the people we work with are teens and adults who are functioning well on the outside—but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from holding it all together.

We offer both individual therapy and group therapy in Charlotte, NC (and virtually across North Carolina/South Carolina) to support real, integrated healing—at a pace that respects your nervous system.

You might notice:

• you keep finding yourself in the same situations, even when you know better
• anxiety, burnout, or emotional overwhelm that keeps returning
• feeling disconnected from yourself or others
• a sense that something deeper hasn’t been fully processed

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual therapy offers a focused, one-on-one space to explore what’s beneath the surface of your symptoms.

This work goes beyond talking about what’s happening in your life. Together, we begin to understand how your experiences have shaped your internal world—and how to shift patterns that keep repeating.
We work with adults and teens, supporting concerns such as:
  • trauma and unresolved past experiences
  • anxiety, chronic stress, or burnout
  • emotional overwhelm or shutdown
  • grief and loss
  • relationship patterns and attachment wounds
  • feeling stuck even with insight or self-awareness

Mindfulness and somatic approaches

Our therapists use an integrative, trauma-informed approach, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as:

Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, we tailor therapy to each person—honoring developmental needs for teens and depth-oriented, insight-to-integration work for adults.

This guided journal offers daily prompts and grounding exercises to help you: create moments of calm in your day, reconnect with your strengths and inner resources, clarify what matters most to you, release what’s weighing you down, take intentional steps toward balance.

GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy offers something individual work cannot: the opportunity to heal in relationship.

Many of the patterns we struggle with didn’t form in isolation—and they don’t fully shift in isolation either. Group creates space for new relational experiences to unfold in real time, within a supported and structured environment.
Our groups are:
  • trauma-informed and thoughtfully facilitated
  • structured to support emotional safety and depth
  • designed to foster real connection and reflection

Group therapy can help:
  • reduce isolation and increase connection
  • bring awareness to relational patterns as they happen
  • support emotional expression in a safe environment
  • build trust, regulation, and new ways of relating

Current Groups

Our therapy groups are offered in rotating cycles throughout the year, based on client needs and clinician specialties.

We intentionally design each group as a contained, cohesive experience rather than an ongoing open enrollment model. This allows for depth, consistency, and meaningful relational work.

WHO WE WORK WITH

We work with teens and adults who are ready for deeper, more integrative therapy.

Many of our clients:
• appear capable and “fine” to others, but feel overwhelmed internally
• are used to pushing through, over-functioning, or taking care of others
• have a history of trauma—whether clearly defined or harder to name
• find themselves in repeating emotional or relational patterns
• have done therapy before but are looking for something more effective

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. If something in your life isn’t working the way you want it to, that’s enough.

This means we pay attention not only to thoughts and emotions, but also:
  • nervous system responses
  • relational patterns
  • internal parts and protective strategies

Our work integrates:
  • EMDR therapy
  • IFS-informed parts work
  • CBT and skills-based approaches
  • mindfulness and somatic integration

This allows therapy to move beyond insight alone and into deeper processing, regulation, and integration.

HOW WE WORK

At Stillpoint, we approach therapy through a trauma-informed, mind-body lens.

Many clients begin with individual therapy and later choose to add group work.

Others are drawn to the relational depth of group from the start.
If you’re unsure where to begin, we can help you decide what feels most supportive for you right now.
There is no single “right” starting point—only what best supports where you are.

In-person and virtual care

We also provide secure virtual therapy for clients in North Carolina and South Carolina.
